Pressing toward the Mark . . .

Life in Ukraine

Hey everyone, I’m finally in Crimea, Ukraine. All the luggage got here too. It was comfortable except towards the end. I was tired and ready to get to our destination. We have had time to unpack and get somewhat settled in. It is 8 hours ahead here, so if it is noon there it is 8 pm. here. I had a chance to go to the store after being inside for a few days. There are 2 couples who have been taking us places, but we are trying to get the papers written up so that David can drive the Kings’ car. We’ve been keeping in touch with Al, and they are thinking now that it will be March before they will come. We have already had a few people over for either dinner or just tea. It is nice being able to hear and undrstand Russain again. We have also talked to Vetalik, in Belarus. He wants to come and visit us. Well there have been times that I’ve been homesick for family and friends, but I keep telling myself that God has me here for a reason. Well hope to see some of you soon, love Anita

I have been watching to see if you made it to your destination for a couple of weeks. I would think it would be a big shock to ones system to move to the other side of the world. It has been cold here so that is probably the same. It warmed up 2 days and we are going back into the deep freeze tomorrow. Knowing the language this time is a real benefit I would suppose. We are thinking of you and hold you in our prayers. We spent a day in Saint Joseph, Mo. together in case you don’t recognize my name. Take care and I will keep watching your comments. It is 10:00 PM here so you are probably about to start your day. Sandra

    Dear Anita,
HI! it’s so good to read your newsletter and blogs. I am always facinated by seeing and hearing things about cultures half-way around the world. I would absolutely love to visit there some day. It is good to hear that you are getting a few more things figured out every day. I can see that God is allowing you all the time to just wait on Him! Seriously, it must be difficult to just wait for His plans to be revealed to you. But, as I am sure you know, He makes HIs paths very clear if we just keep obeying. Maybe this is meant to be a time to reall “gas up” spiritually for all of you? Just to really dig into His Word and spend protracted time in prayer? In order to prepare for whatever he has for you. Well, please know that we are praying for you. Our son, Stephen, has taken quite s shine to Josh, and put him on his “Monday” prayer card! That’s what reminded me to visit your website this morning, because we were praying for your family. May God bless you with BIG things there, as you prepare for His plans! Angelee
