FUN WITH THE CHINESE
Our family was invited to the Chinese New Years get together, by the leader of the the Chinese Ministry, named Tommy. The party was for students going to the University here. About half of them are ethnic Chinese from Maylaysia, and they know how to speak English. The other half are from China and don’t speak English. When we walked in the room everyone had smiles on their face, but there was not a lot of talking. They showed us where we could sit down. All of the students made a special dish so that others could taste it. It was all good, but some things were more interesting than others. They wanted us to try everything. We brought some home made burritos with meat and beans inside. I could tell that it was the first time they had tried anything like that. But I was glad that Tommy said that my dish was the winner because it was gone first. After that, everyone introduced themselves and said a little bit about themselves. Then we played charades, and even did it to a Bible story. Our family played the story of Abraham and Isaac. David was Abraham, Annabelle was Isaac, I was the servant and Lydia was the Lamb. All in all it was a very fun evening. And we got to know them a lot better.
